Oatmeal Facewash (17th October 2011)

Of Honey and lemons
19/08/2011

That day she had a dry patch near her upper lip. Just a little scruffy white dominating the face.
'OMG!' she exclaimed. 'A date this weekend and this dry patch. What am I gonna do?'
She knew she could cover it up using a heavy moisturizer as a concealer. But that would only be temporary. She demanded a quick and permanent solution.

'Would you like to eat toast? I'm making some for my friends today.' called her mom from somewhere in the house.
'Cool!' she thought. She liked it when her mom had her friends over. Aloud she replied, 'Yes, please! With some honey.'
She loved honey. It was sweet, golden and smooth...
'SMOOTH!!! That's it!' she exclaimed all of a sudden.

We all have secrets passed on to us from our grandmothers, great grandmothers, our own moms and even aunts. The thing about these beauty secrets is that they are both effective and easy to prepare at home. Most of the things needed are already present in the fridge or in the kitchen cabinets and above everything, they rarely have any side effects - so safe to use!

That's when she remembered one such secret that proved a savior for her dry patch. Her grandmother had told her about this. 'This face mask' she'd said, 'will instantly give you soft and touchable skin and with regular use it fades marks and delays aging.'

For this mask, you require:

1. Gram flour (besam) - 2 heaped tablespoons

2. Milk to make paste

3. Honey - 1 teaspoon

4. Juice of half a lime

Mix all of these in a shallow dish.
Apply it on your face and neck richly. Use a brush. Using your fingers causes wastage.
Leave it on for 10-15 minutes and rinse off with lukewarm water.
Don't forget to apply your moisturizer after this.

And so she rushed to her kitchen. Fished the stuff out. Made herself a face mask. Done. Need we say her date was thrilled with the softness of her skin?

Check it out! Don't forget to.. Be the Best!

NOTE: use a plastic or a glass dish for this. Avoid using steel or any other metallic dishes for this coz it can react with the limejuice.
